Carminucci, who attended John Jay High School in Cross River, was an all-section and all-county player who was named The Patent Trader’s Player of the Month.
After high school, Carminucci was awarded a baseball scholarship to Concordia College in Bronxville. Upon completing his freshman year, he transferred to LaGrange College in Georgia. He was a three-year starter, team captain and MVP.
These days, Carminucci scouts the Major and Minor leagues for free agent acquisitions or potential trade candidates for the Diamondbacks. He also looks for talent among the International and Independent Professional Leagues.
Throughout his career, Carminucci has signed a number of players that have gone on to play in the Major Leagues. He is well-known for his ability to find “diamonds in the rough.”
Currently residing in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Lauren, and their daughters, Emma, Kate and Elle, Carminucci also remains active in his career through his position on the Board of Directors for the International Sports Group, a non-profit that educates coaches globally.
Carminucci’s new book is also out for release — titled, “Sign Me — The Undrafted Players’ Guide to Getting Signed,” the book is intended to educate players and help them understand the many different paths that can lead to achieving their goals of playing in the Major League.
